Types of Trauma We Address
Intro Not all trauma looks the same-but all of it deserves healing. At Nuvia, we serve girls and young women...
We create safe, healing-centered spaces for girls in Africa to recover from trauma and rebuild their futures.
Empowering adolescent girls and young women across Africa to heal, learn, and thrive.
Across Africa, millions of girls face trauma, violence, and silence without access to mental-health support. Nuvia restores hope through trauma-informed care, education, and dignity programs that help every girl heal, learn, and lead.
Every girl carries a story of pain, resilience, and hope.
Watch how Nuvia helps transform that story into a journey of healing and renewal – one girl, one circle, one community at a time.
At Nuvia, we use a healing-centered approach to support girls aged 13–25 affected by trauma from violence, abuse, neglect, or instability, focusing not just on recovery, but transformation. Our work is guided by five core program pillars:
Group and one-on-one therapy led by trauma-informed facilitators to help girls rebuild emotional safety and resilience.
Helping girls return to school, gain leadership and communication skills, and envision their future beyond trauma.
Providing hygiene kits, school supplies, and clothing – delivered with compassion, privacy, and respect.
True recovery happens when families and communities choose compassion together.
Innovation allows us to reach farther, serve smarter, and protect our planet while healing lives.
Their words remind us why healing spaces like Nuvia matter.
Healing began the day I realized it
wasn’t my fault.
When the memory no longer hurts but teaches, that’s when healing starts.
Together, we can turn pain into possibility.
Help fund therapy sessions, education, and dignity kits for girls healing from trauma.
Join our growing network of hospitals, schools, and NGOs building pathways to healing.
Lend your voice and time to help raise awareness about girls’ mental
health.
Your support helps us bring safety, education, and opportunity to girls and young women who deserve a chance to heal and thrive. Every contribution, no matter the size, creates lasting change by providing access to resources, mentorship, and empowerment programs. Together, we can restore dignity, inspire hope, and help her build a brighter future.

Nuvia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adolescent girls and young women heal from trauma, regain confidence, and build a brighter future through safe spaces, education, and community support.
We begin in Cameroon in 2026, with planned expansion across Africa in the coming years (Kenya, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal). We also have a strategic presence in France and international headquarters in the U.S. and Canada.
Girls and young women aged 13 – 25 who have experienced trauma – including violence, abuse, loss, or social challenges – and who need safe, supportive environments to heal and thrive.
Adolescence and early adulthood are pivotal years. Girls often face barriers to education, safety, and mental health support. By focusing on them, we break cycles of trauma and open the door to long-term empowerment.
We work with survivors of violence (domestic, parental, sexual abuse), those living with chronic illness or disability, teen mothers, and girls affected by grief, conflict, or other emotional challenges.
No. Nuvia is independent and nonpartisan. Our focus is healing, education, and empowerment – open to all, regardless of background, faith, or beliefs.
We rely on grants, individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and in-kind contributions. Transparency and accountability guide all our fundraising efforts.
